Project Management for Research Projects

This workshop aims to develop understanding of the basics of project management. It will look at the difference between a research project and other (technical) projects, focus on how to plan a project well and how to set up a project framework for a successful completion. The workshop will include a presentation, practical project work, reflection and discussion elements.

Brief content:

• Definition of project and types of projects
• Stakeholder Management
• Project Organizations
• Work Breakdown Structure
• Project Tracking and Controlling
• Project Risk Management
• Real life case studies of projects are reflected and discussed – “bring your project”

This workshop is open to all researchers with a basic knowledge of project management. There is pre-workshop reading to do, which will top up your basic knowledge.This will be emailed to you after you have booked your place.
